Where are we?

Firsway Health Centre is a brand new modern suburban training practice in Cheshire. The practice benefitted from the recent merger of three smaller individual practices in May 2009 in order to provide a more cohesive team with more flexibility and choice to our patients.The  practice team have also worked closely with other clinical partners to establish a number of services in the community that didn’t exist previously. Firsway is a committed training practice and there are a number of key roles in taking our training commitments forward. The Practice has a list of 16,000 patients, equally divided between Trafford and Manchester, and works from excellent, modernised premises with good facilities for GP training 

Dr Jenyo is our training lead and also takes an active role in external teaching / training activities. Dr Dawn Tragen is our Foundation doctor and medical student training lead. Drs Jackson, Holloway and Breen are all qualified student trainers who play key support roles.

Ongoing review and development of clinical policy and the resolution of issues are brought together at the regular clinical forum. This forum includes practice nurse and district nurse representation.

We are fully computerised using "Vision" software. All hospital letters are scanned into the patient's clinical record and we are thus "paperlite"

We offer a full range of services for the new GMS contract. We achieved a maximum points in the quality and outcomes framework
